Former Marine, proud father, and loving husband are a couple of my defining facets. Long gone are the days of fighting terrorism in exotic lands, now I keep myself steeped in polyhedral dice by laying down lines of code.

When I'm not busy programming for the day job, I can be found spending time with my family & friends. My favorite pastime is hobby/adventure gaming, for which I created Mad Brew Labs, my ENnie Award nominated RPG blog, Venture Captain, an online character creator for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, and Savaged Tools, an online initiative, dice roller, and log for Savage Worlds RPG.

You can even listen to me on The Night's Watch, a podcast covering HBO's Game of Thrones.

I do believe I'm going with ConspiracyX. It's tough choice, given all the recommendations, but we have players familiar with AFMBE as well as having access to some of the books already. I think I'll jump on that ConX Kickstarter now and get a bundle of books (hopefully we'll still be playing when they arrive).

I have considered World of Darkness, forgot to list it. What about Night's Black Agents lends itself to a conspiracy feel (trying to get as much data as I can to determine my next purchases).

They haven't had a follow-up since round two of the playtest, so nothing yet. Though my group has been playing with the Stealth PTR2 (PlayTest Round 2) rules without an issue.

comment How can I add higher level prayers to my prayerbook?
Within any area you designate as your sanctum (there are rules for how to do that, that I won't cover here), any spell you prepare with the Sanctum Spell feat has an effective spell level 1 level higher than normal (and by the same token is -1 level outside of your sanctum). To quote the feat, "all effects dependent on the spell level (including save DCs) are calculated according to the adjusted level." So it's only increasing/decreasing the effects, it doesn't change it's actual level... you can't prepare a 5th level spell as a 4th.

I don't think the Sanctum Spell trick will work. The spell is still a 5th level spell. In fact, the feat description states that "A sanctum spell uses a spell slot of the spell's normal level." It just modifies any calculated mechanics & DCs when cast. I also don't see how changing your race would work. The spells you gain as an Archivist are solely based on your Archivist class level.
