comment How can I create a Prisoner's Dilemma-style choice in Paranoia?
Yeah I was kinda under the impression that this "snitch or not" interaction was fundamental to Paranoia - maybe your players don't realize that they'll be rewarded for pointing out traitors?

comment Spoilt for choice: helping traditional-system players adapt to narrative-control games
@BESW Some players need to start out with bronze and silver before they work their way up to gold :)

@ObliviousSage You could throw the balls at each other :)

comment Tips and pitfalls for a variable-size group
I'm having some trouble thinking of built-in reasons for absence that don't sound like deus ex machinas, could you add in a few examples? I mean a modern setting could have (say) business trips or something, but I'm not sure how you would handle it in a setting where adventuring is a full-time job.

comment What body parts can I use to deliver a spell whose range is “touch”?
There might be RP reasons, like stumbling into someone to discreetly deliver a touch-range spell with your shoulder while your hands are tied behind your back...

comment When does a creature “Deal Damage”?
Oooh you forgot one - what if two paladins use Shackles of Justice on each other, and then one of them triggers it?

comment Pathfinder Battle Royale!
@KRyan Do you know if there's a summary or something like that of the Test of Spite? It looks really interesting, but I don't really have the intestinal fortitude to sit through hundreds of pages of forum posts.

comment How many sorcerer and wizard spells are there in D&D 3.5?
Wow, the only level for which there aren't more transmutation spells than anything else is 9th - and even then it gets 2nd place.

comment Why do spells need to be “prepared”?
@Pulsehead It's like the difference between someone with savant syndrome and a mathematician. The savant can give you answers instantly, but only in a limited field; the mathematician can give you answers in any field, but it takes time to research them.

comment When GMing in a high-tech game world how do you handle potentially disruptive tech?
@DampeS8N The "hotfix" idea is absolutely perfect if you're playing Paranoia. Depends on the system, setting and tone I guess.

@Cypher Just give the player a laptop running Progress Quest while they wean themselves off of MMOs :)

comment How do I use Shamans as opponents in Shadowrun?
I got the mental image of a Steve Jobs-ish CEO-shaman haunted by a totem of such flawless perfection that he will bend all of the corporation's resources towards producing a physical version of it, regardless of the costs.

Huh so is "dies" synonymous with "dying"? I would expect them to be different states.

@MaurycyZarzycki Sounds like you need to read Hogfather :)

comment How to keep my mount alive/relevant as a fighter
@andrew One thing you can ask your DM about is giving Mako the mechanical abilities from some mount-giving prestige class, but reflavoring it to match whatever's going on with your character and his mount.

comment How do I make headshot rules interesting?
Keep in mind that anything the players can do, their enemies theoretically could do as well... and there's a lot more enemies than there are players.

comment What can be done to maintain balance in a magic system in which mages must construct their own spells?
This sounds a heck of a lot like the magic system in the Death Gate Cycle, so you could even use some of the magic used in the later books and the appendices for inspiration.

comment Any advice on how to politely approach a friend on problems with her character(s)?
Honestly it sort of sounds like she just wants to hang out and tolerates the RPGs because they're a group activity. Maybe try switching to board games?
