I'm a Software Engineer at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in Pullman, WA. Perl and C# I work in on a regular basis, but I've worked with C, C++, python, java, and others in the past. Perl 6 has captured my imagination as well. My latest personal projects center around OpenGL.

comment Can the heal spell (and other positive energy effects) work on constructs?
Further, Cure Light and other cure spells ALSO are targeted as "creature". The description about living or undead is additional about how the energy affects those types, not restriction on targets.

Pathfinder and 3.5 before it often rely on statements in one spell or effect to describe behavior of other spells or effects. In this case, CLW describes the effects of positive energy. Heal uses positive energy. Heal can target more than just living creatures, but positive energy only has the effects described in CLW. This is similar to how a fireball can "target" a fire elemental but has no effect on that creature. It doesn't need to spell out explicitly living or undead because the energy type delivered already places that limitation on the spell.

The lack of the word "living" isn't needed in the Heal spell, since the behavior is determined by the type of energy (positive energy.) You can discharge a touch spell into anything...the target is what matters when determining effect.

This answer ignores the "repair" section on crafting constructs, which spells out the ways constructs can be fixed. Positive energy sources, like Heal, are not included.

Added source for positive energy healing living creatures.

It's in the spell description for cure and inflict spells. "When laying your hand upon a living creature, you channel positive energy that cures 1d8 points of damage ..." and "When laying your hand upon a creature, you channel negative energy ... Since undead are powered by negative energy, this spell cures such a creature..."

comment How can I gain an attack of opportunity when a creature moves INTO reach?
As far as how specific or general, the only limiter is specifying the action. Actions are limited by actions your character is capable of (standard, move, swift.)Conditions are not limited by RAW...but too complex or simple may be subject to GM fiat.

It says when you can take the action in the next paragraph: "To do so, specify the action you will take and the conditions under which you will take it. Then, anytime before your next action, you may take the readied action in response to that condition." (emphasis mine)

Note: you don't have to ready for 'the first'. You only need to ready for an attack. You 'may' act on a condition, not must. Then if the bbeg sends in a mook instead of his champion, you can wait.

comment How do ranged weapons work
@Matthew: You're right in that there's no such thing as a "rate of attack" in Pathfinder, but some of the items in the Technology Guide can be fired more than once with a standard action as a property of the weapon.
