comment How does d20 Modern handle having someone at gunpoint?
+1 I would model the situation just like this. @cr0m, I guess if there is a gunfight outside the window, the guy in the room would not hear the killer in the door. On the other hand, if the victim hears the "killer", he would draw and aim at the door - then both of them are at gunpoint. Perfect.

comment Is it fair to press the players for decisions during combat?
Hmm, I see the logic, but there is a slight contradiction. Namely, the pace becomes inverted - Bob feels like the slow guy now.

comment How do I get my players to form a PC party without just forcing them to?
Interesting thing is, I tried to confine them to the same space, but one of them escaped! I think I'll go with the "It has been foretold" excuse for awkward things happening all the time. Or maybe the "you are all poisoned, find the antidote".

Well...yeah, but! If I let the players create arbitrary characters, those PC-s all have their various reasons to "adventure". Why would all PC-s want to fight, willingly?

comment Survivalist NPC build?
Aren't there at high levels spells to hold/teleport/turn to stone/kill/imprison a guy, without hitting him tediously all afternoon? Or just grapple and pin him. I am genuinely asking, my knowledge is rusty at best.

comment What items do players start with?
Very close to what I do in most of my campaigns. Items are rated exquisite(castle), expensive(house), medium(sword, plate armor), cheap(knife, shield, leather armor), very cheep(food, ropes, clothes). Entry-level characters start with 1 medium item, 4 cheap and as many as they wish very cheap(they should be able to carry this).
