Owned Cyberpunk 2020 and LOTR:RPG books years before I actually played any real RPGs; I've only been playing pen and paper RPGs since 2006. My first experience was with Vampire The Masquerade and then a bit of 3.5 D&D. I didn't fully get into the hobby until 2012 when a friend started a 4e campaign and invited me to play and I dove in. I currently play 4e, 13th Age, Savage Worlds and Colonial Marines. I try to read up on as many RPG mechanics as I can and look forward to trying more RPGs in the future.

My background before RPGs comes from video games, board games, and war games before I played RPGs.

comment When should a GM roll behind the GM Screen?
Was going to edit it into the question, sevensideddie contested it, so I'm just going to vote to close at this point.

comment When should a GM roll behind the GM Screen?
@OpaCitiZen Since he's not solving a specific problem but asking in general, why would someone roll hidden rolls if its not a system specific question than its asking for a list which is no-go on our site. I added the dnd-4e tag because that is the system the user is playing and was asking about (hidden rolls are very are in 4e). Getting answers for other, completely unrelated systems will not help him utilize them in the system he is using.

Again the user us new to rpg.se hidden rolls are very system specific, it makes the most sense ti add the system the op is asking about because some systems may not alloe them at all while others encourage them or like 4e there are only very specific cases.

comment What's with the Paladin's ranged powers? Do they provoke opportunity attacks?
Mighty Crusader Expertise is a must if you plan on a Pally build that uses holy symbol powers.

@waxeagle yeah totally failed to communicate that it still helps to limit opp attacks vs getting away free. Edited my post

New user who said it was for 4e in chat with us. Also when to roll hidden rolls in d&d 4e is very different from fate or paranoia.

IF you are referring to our discussion over whether an obscure bit of AV1 held primacy when its not mentioned in the Rules Compendium that was a completely separate issue. The power clearly states 1 and 1 square only without provoking, its up to the player to maximize this or use a different power if the situation is not advantageous to that power. There's nothing to interpret about the power.

comment Is the Pathfinder FAQ considered RAW?
It matters because people what authoritative answer for their rules questions and often times published materials from different sources (but the same company) can conflict.

-1 The power works as intended, despite saying fluff isn't the justification, you go onto use fluff as a justification for saying the power was designed poorly and the the DM should house-rule it to be more powerful.
