Sword-and-board balance in D&D Yeah, I hear you. It might upset players to take away the 1.5 strength multiplier. But I would argue that increasing the risk of death and injury in combat is a universal threat. It's adding a bit of realism that affects some fighting styles more than others but does affect everyone, so it's not weakening anything specifically. |

Sword-and-board balance in D&D Also, you should check out this related question. There are some great suggestions for combat variants. rpg.stackexchange.com/a/2237/3601 |

What would you pick as the “four elements” of mind? You're welcome, Jon. I like that you are really going in-depth with your design. Just wanted to be up-front with you. |

What point-buy systems of magic (like psionics in 3e D&D) are there? Wow! I didn't know that, so I'm edified already. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'll do some research on my own. |

What point-buy systems of magic (like psionics in 3e D&D) are there? This is great! Thank you, lorimer. I will have to take a look at some of these. I am looking at incorporating on-the-fly creation and, frankly, that is why it's so difficult to design. |

World Development - A Fresh Start In games that I run, I tend to utilize a few high fantasy races and a few unique species, with clear rules established for reproduction (either yes or no). I think a human-PC-only campaign can be great, but you do tend to lose a little fantasy flavor. The best way I've found to compromise is to include a few racial lineages that PCs and NPCs may be more or less genetically related to. This means that physical traits will tend to be more subtle. |

How can I make low levels of a high-level build more bearable? Thanks! Just discovered this site through obsidian portal and I'm blown away by the quality of the content. |
