I'm a Master of Information, an MMORPG expert, and in my spare time I dabble in Dungeons and Dragons, mainly 4th edition. I secretly aspire to re-write 4e into AD&D 4.5 and fix all those niggly issues I have with it.

How does Phasing interact with the Z-axis? I appreciate the cinematic problems with Phasing, but my problem is much more game specific: the player says "I'm phasing, so I do this" and the rule has to be adjudicated. I suppose "the DM will just have to make something up, the rules don't provide any guidance" is a valid answer (and may be the only one) but I was hoping for some more concrete explanation of what the rules allow a phasing player to do... |

Can a prone immobilized creature stand up? That definition of move does discount standing up from prone, because the definition says that leaving a square to enter another is moving and standing up from prone is not leaving a square to enter another. |

When does a power count as an attack? What about "Wizard Attack 1" Flame Arrow, that targets all allies in a close burst 1 and buffs their next attack with 1d6 fire damage? No "attacks" happen with or as the result of the use of that power, unlike Direct the Strike. |

Does the Direct The Strike power provoke OA? But is Direct the Strike an "Attack" or a "Power" given that it does not have an attack roll? It seems to be a ranged power with an effect, and wouldn't count as an attack. Note that OA's are triggered by ranged powers, not ranged attacks, despite the armors referencing ranged attacks, not powers. |

Does the Direct The Strike power provoke OA? I wonder if Shimmering Armor or Shadowdance Armor would work: "You do not provoke opportunity attacks when you make ranged or area attacks" and "Your area and ranged attacks don’t provoke opportunity attacks." Is Direct the Strike an "Attack"? |
