comment Puzzles vs the Swordsage
The reason to have these abilities is to be able to trivially deal with an obstacle that would stop a normal person in their tracks. Using these skills IS solving those puzzles.

comment How does weight affect the game?
I think 4E included weight simply so that it could be used in modules or other settings or 3rd party rule books for special situations without those books having to spend tons of paper enumerating the weight of every item in the game.

comment Can you miss on purpose with Wormhole plunge?
Worth noting you can't "take 10" in the hopes to fail, as you can only do so while not pressed or threatened.

comment How to approach sexual violence so that it adds to the narrative?
While not an answer, it should be noted that there is a double standard associated with sexual violence. Simply by flipping the genders of the people involved, you can often increase or decrease the emotional impact of these themes. Consider a hyper-masculine man that keeps 100 15 year old girls as concubines, versus a hyper-feminine woman that keeps 100 15 year old boys as concubines. This can help you fine tune the impact of the situation. Consider also only flipping one party's gender. (Let's not get into a discussion about the underlying BS that this double standard stems from)

comment Where can I find actual play examples of skill challenges?
fwiw, this is why many DMs drop Skill Challenges entirely.

comment Did having a 'Caller' player positively influence the gameplay in Moldvay's Basic D&D?
I don't mean the leader role in 4E, I mean the concept of a leader, you know, from reality. Most parties end up with a leader or face. (in my 4E game, that's a Dragonborn Sorceror) it is independent from rules.

The Caller is just a primitive version of the party Leader or Face, no?

comment How can I get started on prop making?
I don't think this question is a good fit for our site. Which is too bad because there aren't any really good resources out there for large-scale props for RPGs (armor, weapons, magical items, space-marine suits, so on.) A great resource would be one part cosplay construction tutorials and one part theory (how to make table-worn props comfortable, what makes for good large props, what props have the biggest bang for their buck, how to make great prop sets for mysteries that all work together, so on)

comment How can a PC craft armor?
Caution: when questing for a specific magic item, remember that players still earn treasure parcels for those encounters. (it is easy to forget and short change them.) If these would overshadow the sought item, consider making the quest item part of the next level's treasure parcels. It'll feel more epic and won't unbalance the game in the long run, but will feel like it was worth it.
