It is also worth noting, @Emracool , that both types of players can exist in the same game. You just switch up your style depending on the player. Sometimes players will switch types, too. New players are often of the second type until they really grok the rules.

comment Kingdom building. Multiple farms in one hex
If the rules don't state a limit to the number of improvements, it probably means one of each of the *'d improvements.

Have you told him to stop being an ass-clown? That's gonna be step one for any answer.

comment Is the Halflings bonus vs fear any good?
A good DM should be taking what the PCs have chosen into account when making encounters. While base race/class bonuses are lowest on the list of things to target to make the PCs shine, they should still be on the list. It is your DM's job to find monsters that use fear effects on your character every so often.

comment How do spells work in D&D Essentials Starter kit?
The more I deal with Essentials as 'part of' 4E, the more I want to beat in my own brains. They may use all the same things, but they are completely different games.

comment How can I encourage role playing in a custom setting?
It has generally been my experience that a group of 4 players with 2 good role players and 2 folks along for the ride is a pretty average case for a 4E game. Encouraging good RP is a good idea, but don't make players that just want to experience the story feel like they are doing something wrong.

comment Unhate-able Villains
This is a great answer. I would, however, add one other section. Ex-PCs tend to make fantastic villains. One of the best recurring villains in one of my own campaigns is a Bard who's player left the game early on. He was part of the group, and but for a day's worth of travel the other PC's would probably be on his side.

@bankuei I had assumed MDC, if it is SDC then I guess it would need to be 100 times that, or possibly there is no way to calculate it. Still, 10 times the power of the Little Boy is not a very big nuke.

@synesthesia You should not mark this as correct. Give others who may know the source material better a chance to give a better answer.

Not really familiar with the system. But I can do some math if you tell me what a few example natural creatures are like. Cats, dogs, people, bears. So I can check for curves and extrapolate.
