Question about Ranger's Animal Companions +1 for Animal Companion sucking for classes that should really have better. |

How to deal with a player who takes things personally? +1 for the "kick the guy out until he grows up" strategy. I've had to kick one guy out of three different games of mine, with about a one year wait in between letting him back in each time. Fourth time was finally the charm. If he's a "good guy really" he wouldn't take his frustrations out on you in the middle of a game you're trying to run. This should be the last option you use, though - this sort of wake up either works or makes things worse. |

How does sneak attack work for ranged rogues after surprise round? Both of these systems do have feats - albeit third party feats - that open up the option of ranged flanking. Dragon #350 (pp90 iirc) gives you a 15' threat range, while the Pathfinder version nets you 30'. This could potentially allow you to flank more than one opponent at a time. |

What systems contain Multiple Caster or Combined Casting rules? @Nigralbus Indeed there are, pp129, "Group Rituals". The short is that "[It] is handled like any other action where characters combine their efforts...". This does not work for my system. |

Feat Selection for a Gestalt Druid/Ninja Wildshape assassin @C.Ross - is that any better? My apologies in advance. |

When exactly do “once each round” effects work? @TimLymington - if you found a way to have that many actions in a round, yes. I don't see why you wouldn't damage both targets. |

When exactly do “once each round” effects work? @KRyan - Then why would it have the bit about "(or any creature you grapple) on your turn"? If I grapple a creature with this spell effect on, does it not take damage the turn I initiate the grapple? |

Dungeons and Dragons 1 hour game advice Don't. Unless you can guarantee your players will always be on the ball and in-character/participating, one hour is just long enough for everyone to arrive, chit chat for fifteen minutes, settle down and get into character, recap from last game, and then have maybe 15-20 minutes before getting derailed by table chatter, and then packing up and leaving. In my experience, if you can't run at least 3 hours don't bother running DnD. |

How do I make a story based campaign revolve around a megadungeon? +1 for option (b). I ran an extremely successful campaign in the style of Diablo - the city on the surface was 'civilized' and as they ventured further underground the walls became older and older, the cities larger and larger but buildings shorter and shorter (to account for urban anti-sprawl, that is building upwards instead of outwards). All manner of funny. |

Are Weapon Finesse and two-handed wielding mutually exclusive? I might be confused. The RAW applies to all things, unless those things specifically say otherwise, right? Finesse states certain weapons, and there are other (imo, poorly worded) weapons that are not Light weapons, but can be Finessed anyway. Is that not an instance of the specific overruling the general? Your key point is correct - "If you can somehow finesse a non-raipier one-handed weapon..." and I completely agree. The problem is, how would you Finesse something that does not explicitly say it is Finesse-able? |

Are Weapon Finesse and two-handed wielding mutually exclusive? Actually... this is not quite right. Weapon finesse states "light weapon, rapier, whip or spiked chain...", and Light Weapons says "Using two hands to wield a light weapon gives no advantage on damage". By RAW, Weapon Finesse and wielding a weapon in two hands for the damage bonus are mutually exclusive, except for specifically named weapons. Please see the question linked by LitheOhm in the question comments for more information. The Exotic Elven weapons are edge cases, and I would rule differently than RAW. Starwed also brings up good points in the comments. |

Why do spells need to be “prepared”? @Pulsehead, I would argue that a Sorcerer doesn't actually prepare his spells, in the Wizard sense. Wizards prepare spells from their spellbooks, while Sorcerers already 'know' their spells in their head. They sacrifice a large array of spells, the ability to easily learn more, casting progression, and spells per day for the ability to cast what they know 'right now'. |

How can I maximise my armour without magic items/spells? There was no mention of making armour in 3.5e Stone to Flesh either. Remember that spell effects on magical items are sometimes a little different than their actual, base spell effects. |

How does a mount interact with its rider in regards to Reflex saves? @JonathanHobbs Even though all of the questions are variations on one specific theme ("How does a mount interact with it's rider in regards to Reflex saves?")? Seems like a waste of space to have a bunch of one or two line questions. |

How does a mount interact with its rider in regards to Reflex saves? @okeefe I can't find any rules that suggest one way or the other. This is focused on Reflex saves, seeing as the definition of Reflex is something along the lines of 'moving out of the way'. If the mount moves but the rider still gets hit... realism clashes with game mechanics. |

How to upgrade Pathfinder Beginner Box games and characters to Pathfinder Core Rules? @StuperUser We wanted switched by around level 2 or 3. About four games in, and the players were saying "This is nice, but we want more options." So by 5 when we ended, the DM broke out three copies of the core book, passed them around and the rest was a two year campaign of being complete badasses. |

Force Missile Mage: Overpowering Missile vs Reflective Shield? I don't think the class designer took into account having two FMMs duking it out though. Overpowering Missile places the effect on the spell, and then Reflective Shield takes it away, even though it would not do such a thing to a normal Magic Missile spell? I dunno on that front. Good point that Reflective Shield isn't actually a Shield spell, though. Not entirely sure why I thought it would be a similar effect. |

How can I optimize a factotum? Why can I only give a +1 to this answer, and not a +10 or +20? As comprehensive as they get, covers a wide range of things and explains the points. Very nice work. |
