comment Can a Magic Circle Against Evil protect a creature from a Night Hag's Dream Haunting?
Oh, also -- regardless of the title, the question was only about the second point. Discussing the first and third uses of the spell is probably not necessary.

Protection from evil does ward against mental control other than "domination-type". But the night hag's ability isn't any type of mental control.

protection from evil does not specify that it only works on [mind-affecting] effects.

comment How to legally trap a character under a rock, underwater
Standard rock is ~4-5 times the density of water. The buoyant force is just equal to the weight of water displaced, so the effective weight will be about 20-25% less.

comment What is an “official” supplement in the context of D&D 3.5?
I can't help but think this answer is far too long, given that there isn't really much info from WotC to go on. To me, the most interesting stuff is all buried in the last few paragraphs.

Are you planning to publish these somehow? If not, then much of the advice below is basically besides the point -- the technical problems of balancing a LA +0 race can be ignored if you get to work with the players directly!

comment Is the Dark Light ritual an invisibility cloak?
@Ravn Imagine your party is sneaking up to a town under cover of darkness. You need a light source to see with, but a typical light source will give away your position. This ritual is the solution.

This is a good answer, but not to this question.

comment Attack of Opportunity & spell casting
You might want to tweak your wording -- you keep track of the number of AoO you've made since your last turn, not per round. For a new player this distinction is important to make.

comment What are the best uses of a Factotum's Cunning Brilliance (Ex)?
Oh, and oddly, the druid's Animal Companion ability is (Ex). Good luck explaining that one, though.

The FAQ suggests that: "When in doubt, the DM should decide if an unmarked ability qualifies. Anything that lacks a clear, supernatural element should be fair play." I know you personally don't care for the FAQ, but it obviously will help convince some DMs, and is therefore worth mentioning.
