comment Is Swarm Attack an action?
@ThalesSarczuk "An attack takes an attack action, so Jack's answer is wrong and mine is spot-on." It's ambiguous what the literal RAW mean, which is why I discussed other considerations.

comment How do I handle PCs with 1 or 2 intelligence?
I think I fundamentally disagree with you both about what intelligence is, and what level of intelligence an animal posesses. Would you apply these same rules about Int checks when the party fights off a wild bear that has attacked them?

comment Considering Complex Dice Roll Probabilities
Your amended output is still not doing what the OP discusses. (And cannot easily be amended to do so.) (a) Take the highest two of 3d20 (b) count how many of those two are greater than the target.

comment Considering Complex Dice Roll Probabilities
btw, I typed up an answer that actually analyzes mathematically what's going on, but it seemed a bit too lengthy/unclear. I can post it as a separate answer if desired.

comment Considering Complex Dice Roll Probabilities
I'm confused as to why there are close votes for "unclear". This question is actually pretty clear and specific. It sets out a dice mechanic, and asks what the probability curves associated with it are.

comment Considering Complex Dice Roll Probabilities
@WesleyObenshain While anydice is capable of this analysis, the particular suggestions in this post won't actually work. (Or, at least, I couldn't see how to do so!) OP wants something a bit more complicated.

This has the form of a good answer recommending anydice, but unfortunately doesn't consider the case suggested by the OP! :)

comment What is Break Enchantment actually useful for?
@ChrisNicola It does have a greater number of targets, which could be situationally useful. (Also a longer ranger, but given the casting time that won't matter much!)

comment What is Break Enchantment actually useful for?
@ChrisNicola That restriction only applies if it can't be reversed by stone to flesh. (Clearly they specifically wanted it to be able to reverse petrification.)

comment Does Spell Perfection double the bonus dice from Intensified Spell?
The feat does not add bonus dice. It raises the cap on the number of dice, which technically is a set numerical bonus.

comment What Are Freedom of Movement's Limits?
If it were that simple, this question wouldn't exist in the first place!

All this does is assert a particular interpretation.

comment Converting Saving Throws from AD&D to D&D Next
IIRC certain types of saves, while theoretically tied to the source of the effect, were also related to the severity of it. Sometimes a save vs. petrification would have little to do with turning to stone; it was chosen because it was harder/easier to save against than the other options.

comment Anywhere I can find more magic item sets for 3.5e?
"Possibly the most dangerous and least acceptable course is to simply concoct some sets of your own" -- I can't really agree that this is dangerous or unacceptable. If you homebrew content and it is unbalanced, you can simply change it. :)

comment Are Rakshasas supported as a playable race?
"technically that means Wizards considers the book's contents (with errata) are considered 3.5-compliant." -- I have never been able to find a statement by Wizards to this effect. If you know of one, please add it over here! :)

comment What Feats do I want to take to maximize my effectiveness with a crossbow?
I've played a highish-level archer, and other than fighter feats it looks like you've covered every good ranged feat I've taken. I do think I saw a couple of xbow-specific feats; if I can find any I'll add it as an actual answer.

comment Making a character who gets stronger as he/she takes damage
That's kind of a hilariously overpowered spell in the right circumstances.

comment Can a character without limbs use the monk's abilities
Even by the RAW, neither PCs nor NPCs are bound by the monster's listed alignment: "The alignments listed for each monster represent the norm for those monsters—they can vary as you require them to in order to serve the needs of your campaign"

comment Can subdual damage be used to Sunder?
@ThomasJacobs I don't know about sundering specifically, but piercing weapons simply can't be used to smash an object, and ranged weapons do half damage.

comment Precision Damage and Damage Reduction clarification
@JStephen 3.5 used "precision" damage as a game term in a few places, but it was never defined. It was just a concept in the designers heads, that popped out in a few places like manyshot: "Regardless of the number of arrows you fire, you apply precision-based damage only once."
