D&D Hall of Fame:

Singhi's 3e campaign - started at 1000 xp, vanished into nothingness at 2995 xp.
Paolo's 3e short adventure - too much DMPCing.
Luca's 3e campaign - started as a CoDM-PC, made a PC shortly after. Still no level ups.
My 3e campaign - aborted three rooms from the end.
Marco's 3.5 7-PCs-campaign - aborted for scheduling problems. Still no level ups.
Marco's intro to RttToEE - gave DMing right to me after 2 sessions. Arbitrary leveling up between those.
My 3.5 Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. TPK'ed at level 8/9.
Marco's 3.5 all manuals campaign - aborted for excessive PC firepower. Guess what.
Marco's 3.5 premade characters campaign - aborted after less than 10 minutes of play.
Pierluigi's 4e Keep on the Shadowfell - gave DMing rights to me before I could level.
My 3.5 Expedition to the Demonweb Pits. - Completed!
My 3.0 City of the Spider Queen. - Completed!
My 4e Keep on the Shadowfell. - Completed!
Cau's 3.5 Daemonfey Apocalypse campaign. First true level up ever!
My 3.5 Expedition to Undermountain - aborted when we got a 4e group again.
My 4e Thunderspire Labyrinth. - Ongoing.

comment What is the point of having a 1st-level familiar if you can't communicate with it in a language?
Then again, it's considered good practice not to add an "EDIT:" paragraph. Since all edits are saved in the editing history, it's better to just edit out the wrong parts and edit in the new pieces, so that the new answer stands by itself. (Blarg. Someone please rewrite this comment of mine in a more understandable way.)

I'm sorry to contradict you but even this is wrong. One can never have ranks in Speak Language, because he gets new languages instead: "You can purchase Speak Language just like any other skill, but instead of buying a rank in it, you choose a new language that you can speak."

comment How many times must prerequisite spells be cast when using a dedicated wright?
Couldn't that mean he needs to channel all the spells that are needed throughout the entire process in that 1 hour?

Nevermind, I didn't read the whole feat.

Familiars, unlike animal companions, don't actually take hit dice of their own, which means they don't get extra skill points.

comment What, if any, bonuses to AC can my allies temporarily 'turn off' so I can hit them with an Alchemist's Healing Bomb?
@trlkly an attack penalty directly translates into more chance of missing. Unless you only hit on a 20, an then it's just a matter of luck. Based on range increments, a faraway ally is just harder to hit with the healing bomb.

comment Is there software for generating encounters for D&D 3.5e?
Please be aware that a random encounter generator like you're asking will usually be based on comparing challenge ratings, and challenge ratings are usually not a good way to choose enemies for your party (platinum horrors are CR9 monsters with at will disintegrate and there's a CR3 crab with huge armor and grapple modifiers, and those are just the infamous ones... while a grick has very low HP and is a CR3. Plus, your party might be unequippd to fight swarms, or flying creatures, making them much more hard to cope with)

comment How do you alter encounter difficulty in regards to decreased party size?
Losing a battle because someone couldn't show up for the game might cause some tensions... not every situation that the querent asked for is "making mistakes".
