D&D Hall of Fame:

Singhi's 3.0 campaign - started at 1000 xp, vanished into nothingness at 2995 xp.
Paolo's 3.0 one-shot - too much DMPCing.
Luca's 3.0 campaign - started as a CoDM-PC, made a PC shortly after. Still no level ups.
My 3.0 campaign - aborted three rooms from the end.
Marco's 3.5 7-PCs-campaign - aborted for scheduling problems. Still no level ups.
Marco's intro to RttToEE - gave DMing right to me after 2 sessions. Arbitrary leveling up between those.
My 3.5 Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. TPK'ed at level 8/9.
Marco's 3.5 all manuals campaign - aborted for excessive PC firepower. Guess what.
Marco's 3.5 random characters campaign - aborted after less than 10 minutes of play.
Pier's 4e Keep on the Shadowfell - gave DMing rights to me before I could level.
My 3.5 Expedition to the Demonweb Pits. - Completed!
My 3.0 City of the Spider Queen. - Completed!
My 4e Keep on the Shadowfell. - Completed! Kavu's 3.5 Daemonfey campaign
My 3.5 Expedition to Undermountain - aborted when we got a 4e group again

comment What happens to the current hit points when Aid ends?
Mr. Mearls does not seem to have really understood the concern. It's not about the maximum (max xp going down while still at full life) that we're worried, rather the opposite (does current XP go down as well when the effect ends?)

comment How can a wizard maximize the area of bursts and blasts?
Would being a dragonborn with the dragonsomething rod (level 4 implement) help or is it worded in a way that's incompatible with your needs?

comment How do you boil a level 30 PC down to an easily accessible NPC or game mechanic?
I recall seeing a class called "leader" that was intended to be played as a mercenary healer for a party lacking it (every PC role had one). They have simplified mechanics but of course you'd need to build her from scratch, would this be an ok answer for you?

comment How do I deal with a player who takes things personally?
Maybe tell the other players what you're doing and what, so he can't get their sympathies.

comment Does magic armor automatically resize?
@Arkhaic Elves are generally smaller than a human - except for Forgotten Realms elves (but not drow), who are the same height) - and thinner. A cloak made for an elf might be suited for a petite human female or a young man, not for your burly blacksmith-looking warrior.

comment Does magic armor automatically resize?
@dphil yeah, I was looking for the general case here. My question's scope was to check the correctness of some contested info in an answer I gave here on the site and I did not care about other ways to resize armor. I just wanted to know if making it magical would have been enough.

comment Make NPCs hard to interrogate
My fault, mental control has it as an explicit exception: if the commands conflict, the casters make charisma checks to decide who wins. Disregard my previous, I say again, disregard my previous.

comment How can I make puzzles a challenge for the character, rather than the player?
@BrianS the clue feeding technique is already in my answer, the OOC help didn't come to my mind while answering and NotVonKaiser already has it. I might include it in my answer too, because it's good advice, but it feels like stealing :(

comment Looking for RPGs without character-classes
@Ferox Elaborating on lisardggY's comment, here are a few question that could help you tell us what you're looking for: Do you need one of the players to be the game master or are masterless games ok? Do you want it to focus on combat, character development (this usually does not work well with "deep, pre-written backstories", since players tend to cristallyze on those), creating a story togheter? Must it be a collaborative or a free-for-all game? Should it be able to manage long campaigns or just one-shots is ok? Setting/tech limitations might also be useful.

Not necessarily every check should be Int-based, see the last part of @NotVonKaiser's answer.

Solving riddles is half part previous knowledge and half part intuition (Int and Wis could both be used)
