Preventing saturation in a horror campaign I like the secondary effects note - that's one of the most unappreciated ones. Seeing the shadow of terror lets the players fill in the monster with their own personal terrors, much scarier for each person than anything a GM could come up with at the party level! |

Fleshing out an idea: “an orc was raised by humans, so he fights with the humans against his species” Those are some really interesting questions. I think we can work with those, and with questions like it. Thanks! |

Fleshing out an idea: “an orc was raised by humans, so he fights with the humans against his species” It's pretty free-form at the moment, and it's his campaign, so I only have an advisory role. Do you think I should sleep on this question and then put up a more-acceptable version of it? |

Fleshing out an idea: “an orc was raised by humans, so he fights with the humans against his species” That coming-up-with-backstory is what I thought I was asking. What, in particular, rubbed the wrong way, that I can tamp it down? |
