I'm a fairly serious RPG player, and have been playing for over a decade.

I've played significant amounts of the following systems:

  • D&D 3.5
  • Pathfinder
  • D&D 4.0
  • D20 Modern (Future, Urban Arcana, etc)
  • D20 Star Wars
  • Diaspora
  • Fate Core and FAE

but I've dabbled in a lot of games!

I've also played in small groups and large groups, sixteen players at one point.

This is not a democracy! The resolution to all arguments for the F-troop.

I'm also a moderator here. If you have an issue with a post, please flag it and we'll get to it ASAP. You can also come talk about the site in chat.

Viva the Kobold Revolution!

comment Techniques for fast paced storytelling
Your question, while long still seems very broad. The core question is "Are there any techniques/methods to improve pace when storytelling and what could I change to make the game more fast paced."

Also don't design characters that can't get along with the party.

I think this is the real issue: the character as described simply won't work with a normal party and a normal game.

comment Does 5e address the murderhobos problem?
There seems to be quite a bit of disagreement and contention about how we should answer 5e questions at this point in time. Please take those up on Role-playing Games Meta, and post a link here.

comment D&D good edition for newbies
@Jason because there are at least two dozen "easy games to learn". Which is easiest? Matter of opinion.

comment How to help my low-level spellcaster PCs feel more useful
@Perkins That's not at all necessary. Those classes can contribute just fine without resulting to ridiculous game hacks. Frankly I wouldn't allow just about anything you're suggesting in my games, and I imagine many others wouldn't as well.

Are your users on the same page about the style of the game? Do they see the game as about the story or about winning?

These comments have been deleted as they descended into pointless bickering. Remember to be nice. If someone else is wrong on the internet, give them the benefit of the doubt, and post a correct answer so that the community can vet you out.
