I'm an electrical engineering student with a computer science minor at the City College of New York. I do programming work for the Metropolitan Transit Authority, and do a fair amount of hobby-coding for web sites and computer game modifications.

comment Can a DM disallow the Candle of Invocation exploit using RAW?
@Nagora You aren't wishing for infinite power, you are wishing for an item well within the bounds of the listed safe wishes, and using that to get more power. The infinity comes from the loop, not from any particular wish. And yes, the efreet could try to screw you, but that risks him not getting his wish; just carefully choose wishes that you can verify were successfully and safely granted. They're Evil, but they're not crazy nor prone to spiting themselves just to mess with you. They are also Lawful, and would usually honor any bargain they have made.

@Nagora You're right, magic items aren't limited to 25,000 gp: "- Create a magic item, or add to the powers of an existing magic item." And yes, wish states that it is the mightiest spell a sorcerer or wizard can cast, but it doesn't say only sorcerers and wizards can cast it. The rest of the description refers to "you," the caster, whatever you are. The ability to grant wishes is a spell-like ability; yes, it is the same one. All of these are rules arguments, as is Pun-pun. Just because the DM can change, fix, or ignore these rules isn't relevant to statements or questions the rules.

It does, looks good. Easier said than done I think, but good advice!

This doesn't answer the question. What would the new item cost in this case? What does a +1 gloom blade cost, so that you can subtract the cost of the regular gloom blade from it?

Can you just sell it and get a quality weapon instead? That thing sucks.

comment How can I get more spell slots for my caster without resorting to the Extra Slot feat?
@MatthieuM. Hmm, that does seem to be an issue. I could have sworn there was a simple way to get this to work, I'll look into it. But even if there isn't, Wizard 4/Sorcerer 1 is best because you delay the second missed wizard level until 12th.

comment How to find items and feats based on a specific requirement like “CON enhancement”?
The phrase "my character" implies that the querant is a player, not a DM, which makes most of this answer difficult to use.

@Nagora Wish can explicitly make any item worth 25,000 gp or less, and the candle costs a lot less. Saying wish can't do that is a change to the rules. Also, Pun-pun says you're wrong about omnipotence not existing.

@Nagora I meant they like getting to make their own wishes. They cannot usually do that. I'll consider how to reword for clarity.

revised What damage does Whip of Spiders do and how is it used?
incorporating the forum post that mxyzplk found, since Paizo likes to treat those as RAW

@Forrestfire Oooh, you found it! I spent like five minutes looking for that before giving up. I thought Wizards had removed the page entirely; Google just could not find it.

comment How to roleplay languages that none of the player characters know?
Probably worth pointing out Tolkien’s Quenya, by far the most thorough and detailed elvish language anyone’s ever made, and one of the most comprehensive “constructed languages” in history.

If you do not like my edit, you can and should change it back. But note that, as it was before, it will likely get put On Hold, so you might want to edit it more when you do put it back. If you don’t know how it should be edited, reverting it and letting it be put On Hold gives you an opportunity to work on it and discuss with others how to make it work on this site, either through comments or Role-playing Games Chat.

Zaibis, your original question, taken literally, seems primarily opinion-based; there is no authoritative definition of what D&D elvish or dwarven sound like, so it’s anyone’s guess what they sound like. That’s not a good fit for this site, and a couple of users have already called to put it On Hold until it could be developed into something more suitable. I’ve taken a stab at doing this for you, to focus on the problem you need solved (players don’t know the language, need an immersive way to demonstrate this) rather than asking for people to make up one particular solution.
