Programmer by day, tabletop/video gamer by night. Hoping to mix the two someday, in either time range. :)

comment How much information is there about the Wall of the Faithless and the crusades against it, and where can I find it?
Seems like as this is a question about lore and not rules, it would make more sense to restrict the information you want to pre-Spellplague lore, not necessarily 3.5. I'm sure there's Forgotten Realms lore older than the content released during 3E that will apply. This is also has the benefit of sounding less edition war-y.

comment Limits to psionic power augmentation in DnD 3.5
Can't say for certain as I currently don't have access to the book, but I recall this rule actually being introduced in the Expanded Psionics Handbook. Complete Psionic is a companion to this book and was released later.

comment Is the Assassin class non-functional?
It has low DPR too? Lame. Agreed about happily playing one anyway, though.

The executioner assasin from Heroes of Shadow is more competitive in terms of contributing in combat, I believe. Well, compared to the original assasin, not the thief, which is exceptional.

comment Is there a Ravenloft Campaign Setting for 4E that ISN'T the board game?
@Coreworlder: It was "cancelled" at the same time as Mordenkainen's Magnificent Emporium (DDXP 2011), and that has since actually come out. So, I suppose there's still hope, but not much.

This was cancelled a while back.

comment Tips for running a successful and engaging campaign WITHOUT combat?
@mxyzplk: Even in previous editions of the game, the majority of a character's class features are still combat-focused, but it's a lot more possible to at least do looser, gridless and more narrative combat in those editions.

comment Why do published adventures seem to have gone out of fashion, and who is still publishing 'adventures'?
@Mark: Narrative combat is certainly possible in 4E as long as people remember that powers are not verbs and that they are not limited to their character sheets for things to do. However, it excels at tactical combat and it's what a lot of the game's writing focuses upon, so if that's not really what your group is looking for, it's probably best to find a game that excels at what you all enjoy the most.

@Mark: If you stick with only Pathfinder content and don't dip into D&D 3.5 content, you'll find that the complexity is not nearly as bad as it was back in the day. I'm not sure what kind of complexity your group had trouble with while playing 3.5, but the fact that characters are now incentivized more than ever to stick with a single base class instead of splitting out into multiple classes helped keep down what annoyed me most about 3.5. :)

comment Does Augmenting Whetstone work on a magical item?
The axe doesn't have a +3 enhancement bonus to attack & damage rolls, it grants your character a +3 enhancement bonus to attack & damage rolls when used.
