I've been involved in one aspect or another of the adventure games hobby for the past twenty-five years. Started playing in 1987. (First game? Champions, followed by CyberSpace, the Iron Crown cyberpunk game for Space Master, their sci-fi Rolemaster spin-off.) Was hired by InQuest Magazine in 1996, where I started my editorial career. Since then, I've done work for Green Ronin, Malhavoc Press, Dream Pod 9, and White Wolf. I managed two different game stores in the metro Boston area in the 2000s, and am now working primarily freelance. Still gaming after all these years.

I have a weakness for good coffee and bad puns.

comment Do Kindred have an Oriental counterpart in nWoD?
Kindred of the East is pretty clearly oWoD — it was released as part of the Year of the Lotus in 1998. The nWoD games didn't even come out until 2004.

comment What is the advantage of wielding two swords as an ambidextrous combatant vs. wielding a single sword?
@Eregrith: You're welcome. If it helps, think of splitting your die pool as doing two things at the same time, whereas Celerity is doing things at a faster speed.

comment What is the advantage of wielding two swords as an ambidextrous combatant vs. wielding a single sword?
@Eregrith By my reading, it is not. The rules for splitting actions specify that they must be two different actions, and that would be the same action twice. (Otherwise, the notion of "choose the lowest die pool and distribute dots" would be worthless, since there would be only one die pool.) Plus, since you're swinging your only sword, ambidexterity and double-wielding wouldn't come up.

comment What's up with the Siberys dragonmark?
"sih-BEAR-is." As in, "Ze bear is coming at me so quickly, I should activate this dragonmark." (Actually, Keith Baker has said that variants are acceptable — even desirable — as regional dialects. "Cyre," for instance, is pronounced "See-ree" by Baker, but he accepts "Sire," "Seer," "Khai-er" and others as valid.)
