comment PC characteristics overruling player intent
@Jon of All Trades: Playing out limitations imposed on the PCs by the rules is part of most rpgs, imo. Certain (n)WoD games (to stay with the question's system, but I could cite others too) already have such built in: think of the Rage/Frenzy of the werewolves, the Rötschrek of Vampires. (Not to mention that in-game physical tests are quite similar: You may think you can jump over the fence with Dex 2, but hey, let's give that a roll. You may think pulling the trigger is easy but hey, part of your brain says otherwise. Roll.) ...also, some even find challenges like this entertaining. :)

@mxyzplk: Basically I'm looking for published, official material. If there's no such available, I'd gladly read already developed house rules. I did not want to imply that by this Q I wanted to start a "let's discuss and design a new rule here" thread.

Atm I'm looking for a D20 (3.x) specific answer (because that's what we're playing now) indeed, but Jug's also right, such solutions could also come in handy for many other dice rolling games. :)

comment Does anyone have any templates for Scrivener?
off: I've never heard of this before, but having followed your link checked it out and at first glance it seems amazing - it's a pity there's no stable 1.0+ Windows build yet. let's keep our fingers crossed for that. :) thanks for the great link!

comment What RPG worlds/systems work best together in crossover combinations?
off: @gomad: I do agree with that, downvoting should probably require an explanation (of course, coming to think of it, in the case of plain bad answers - which yours imo was not - that would be tiresome, so I'm not 100% on this.) @whoever downvoted gomad's answer, could you please explain your reasons for it? thx.
