@Flamma I've updated/extended my answer with those details, please check them. (The book itself doesn't really go into more detail than that.)

comment WEG's Star Wars 2nd Ed. d6 system simplification?
Sure, but considering the difficulty of bringing all these players together for a session nowadays (everyone's busy all the time), that's the half we're most willing to let go. We'd rather focus on the story. :)

comment Looking for a high-action, non-dark setting
@KRyan I've linked to Amazon where, if we can believe the system, the books I've mentioned can be bought from third parties. Al-qadim.com also seems to be an informative site (I've also linked it in my A), and Wikia also seems to have further, though apparently rather introductory info on it. :)

@AK4749 Yep, you're right. Some kinds of fun are just not compatible. You can't really eat ice cream while scuba diving, for example, can you? :) Okay, that's an exaggeration, joking and roleplaying aren't so exclusive... unless you're trying to play a darker game, for example?

comment How to cut back on pre-game joking?
@valadil and wax eagle: No, it's not a duplicate. It's not about endless chatting at all, and not just during gaming session. We can stop the chatting. We have trouble with joking killing the mood for some sooner than for others, and not just during live pre-gaming but during electronic discussions as well (that may take weeks even.) Consequently, I am not expecting very similar answers.

@Flamma Ok, I get it now (I hope. :)) A title-sequence like transition with a slow build-up can help getting back on track indeed.

@Flamma We often do that, but drama doesn't work best if served right after a comic interlude. (See the Dracula parallel. :))
