comment How can I replace a player character with an impostor without alerting the group?
The ultimate twist and balancer: Have the party stumble upon itself, every member bound and gagged and stripped. Imagine the surprise of all the rival master spies who each have taken over a different party member, believing the rest of the guys to be the genuine stuff. Imagine the surprise of the party. Pure win. :]

I guess you're right. I'll get back to this later then. And I'll definitely take a look at Nova Praxis. Thank you.

This is a very good starting point, thank you. :) Considering the unfortunate lack of interest in this Q, I'm accepting this answer. If anyone comes up with a way better answer in the future, I might award them a bounty (in case I'll still be interested in the topic.)

comment Bad/Rash character actions and consequences that don't kill my game
As a side-note: The village itself may not have the resources to start a countrywide manhunt, but a sheriff is an official of the state (most likely a kingdom), and states have never been keen on allowing random people (especially barbarian outsiders) to hurt their law enforcement unpunished, as that may send the wrong message to the populace. The village most probably has to report the killings to the sheriff's superior, who probably will have the means & the will to bring down the iron fist of the law on the murderer and possibly on his friends, who can't be anything else but collaborators.

In CoC, you could always assume minimal sanity loss (lowest possible number rolled) and maximum regain at the end of a session. That would bring it to tolerable levels, imo.

comment Lovecraft's Deep Ones and co. in the 21st century
@CAA No, but a quick google says even its second edition is 20 years old by now? That doesn't mean it can't be good (on the contrary), but I don't think it would deal with the Mythos creatures' 21st century problems I'm rather curious about, such as everyone having persistent online connection, (multiple) cameras and video-recording in their pockets, geolocation etc.

@mirv120 I don't know about Cthulhutech, but The Laundry even uses Chaosium's BRP system. As for the upcoming new version of DG, I'm looking forward to it.

This sounds vaguely interesting, but I'd really appreciate some relevant spoilers, details that would sell The Laundry. ;) (I'm sure you do know how to hide them.)

I'm open to anything interesting, and I'd consider The Laundry rather official in the above sense, based on the reviews I've read. (I don't own / haven't played the game yet.)

comment Modern or future polar horror adventure
Yes, it does, thanks. The answer is still too broad for me as I've been hoping for something more like BtMoM, a focused piece. (The EP supplements seem great but cover way too much besides cold climate environments.) Anyway, it's not a bad answer, and I'll accept if noone comes up with a more specific one.
