comment How challenging is “challenging” in Shadowrun?
@MrJinPengyou - You can do it that way also, if you're more comfortable making a "sample character" be your standard. (They're generally better at the best thing they do than a "typical" expert; they've been min-maxed a bit.)

comment Fantasy and magic in a primarily realistic setting
@Alex P--Took some examples from a sourcebook I own; I had thought you'd not buy the book but glance through it next time you were in a gaming store. Though I guess these days maybe such things are in short supply.

comment Aganazzar's Scorcher: Rules for 'path' Spells
If anyone remembers the ancient CompuServe game Islands of Kesmai, you might recall that wizards had a Firebolt spell that had a path that could go in any direction (even turn back on itself). Overlapping the path three or four times was very effective. This is probably not what you would want out of Agnazzar's Scorcher.

comment Guide to writing an RPG - Examples inline or at the end?
@RobLang - I understand from the voting that it is unpopular, but I have seen exactly this done well and it is extremely effective. If you want to glance, you pop it up and read it, then move the cursor and let it drop back. If you want to read more seriously, pop it up inline.

comment How can I prevent a TPK without obvious Deus Ex Machina?
+1, Great idea! (Note: the witchfire only needs to hold enough PCs captive in order to (believe it can) compel the rest to do the Witchfire's bidding.)
