Or they kill his friends and don't dig him out, which could be worse.

comment How do I help create story around the table without writing it?
@DCShannon I see your point. What I propose is something to drive the story when you get stuck, to nudge things towards a conclusion. If the story flows and concludes naturally, so be it. IMHO no rules ever trump in-fiction common sense.

Isn't all fiction artificial by definition? Can you explain what you mean by artificial?

comment How do I make Puzzle Bosses more interesting than a Knowledge Check or tedious pre-research?
Somewhat. I'm saying, the discovery of such weaknesses (given or earned) should come before the confrontation, not during it.

comment Active Opposition with Free-Form Professions in Fate
Yes, the difficulty is the guard's "Guard" profession rating, plus the aspects invoked on his behalf.

comment Is it a bad idea to steal characters from other media?
It becomes plagiarism only if you refuse to acknowledge the source/inspiration and claim it to be entirely your own creation. It becomes uncreative only if you take everything as-is without adding anything of your own devising.

Food. Lots of food. Especially carbs and protein. Dumplings in chicken broth work best. Favored by sumo wrestlers. :D

comment How to handle a fair contest between PCs in Apocalypse World?
I tend to think that acting first and triggering the first move are different things in AW. Triggering the first move is not a direct advantage because it also brings risk of failure, which means that the player rolling the move could get hurt as a result. Maybe you could implicitly make sure that's the case as MC, so that triggering the first move becomes a strategic decision rather than a sure way of winning the duel.

@Lohoris, moves in *World games are story drivers, not situation simulators. These moves don't measure the ability of characters. They just randomize story twists. What you do afterwards with the new direction is the interesting part mostly.

:) Sorry if it sounded offensive. Blame it on the meaning of the m-word in my native language in which I think

Well, I have a conviction that the new generation of game systems like Fate and *World are for players with a bit more mature understanding of RPG's :) yöu may have to wait for some of your players to grow into it.

@Seven I suspected griefing when I saw both answers here being downvoted simultaneously. But you're right, that's not evidence, just suspicion.

comment What is the maximum altitude an Aerodyne can fly?
I went through Maximum Metal, Solo of Fortune and CP2020, no info on service ceiling there. But you can assume that these things can fly much higher than any urban landscape. Your players should worry about the duration of the hover, not the altitude.

@seven, actually, if you can come up with a power source to keep a turbine spinning for long enough, it looks very well possible to use the atmosphere itself for delta-v mass.

There's only one thing that is actually certified to fly today in that list, the PAL-V. And it flies as a gyrocopter, not as an aerodyne.
