comment What are the best places on the Web to advertise for players?
@Burrito Al Pastor The interesting thing about this issue is that there are loads of answers to it . . . and that's precisely the problem. No clear leader has emerged, so the gamer population is split up across different platforms.

Also, please don't illustrate it with Poser art. For the love of God, don't do this. And if you're going to use photos, just let them be photos. Don't hit them with a bunch of Photoshop filters in an attempt to make them look like paintings or something.

It's also worth looking at Strands of Fate for a very different approach to the system. Houses of the Blooded and ICONS go even further afield, being Fate-influenced-but-not-really-Fate-anymore systems.

comment What alternatives are there to replace orcs, kobolds, and hobgoblins in low-level encounters?
@Stefano Characters don't need names and detailed motivations just because they're human, any more than being an orc precludes a character from having a name and detailed motivations.

comment 10-100 Troglodytes is too many!
Even if the full total of troglodytes rolled are combatants, does it necessarily follow that all 100 are eager to spit themselves on the party's swords? I'd figure that after this quarter of humans and demi-humans wades through 50 of their number, turning the cavern into a swamp of blood, the other 50 have got to start thinking that maybe they should just move out.

comment What race/class combinations would you like to see in pregenerated characters?
Yeah, probably a good point for a con situation. But some monster races are perfectly easy to roleplay. I suspect more people would know what to do with a goblin than a shardmind, for example.

comment What does the Laundry RPG change in the BRP?
Hm. Just using bullet characters in the code works a little better. Not ideal, but acceptable.
