How to deal with players who like to use the local authorities to solve their problems I disagree that the player is playing their character 'smart'. He is playing 'easy' and not in the least creatively. He might as well have a few hundred knights to follow him around, that would be a lot smarter than a small group of adventurers going into the dungeon. I would prefer to see him devise a trap or a clever ruse that splits the enemy into smaller groups that the party can handle better. Also, I think the character is ignoring his abilities and those of his party. Unless of course the encounters are too hard for the group to handle. |
