I'm mostly on RPG.stackexchange.com, but also check Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Stackoverflow. I'm currently GMing and/or playing OD&D, AD&D 2e and Stars Without Number campaigns. I use C# (in Unity3d) and Python when writing code.

Increasing experience gain in session You're asking the wrong question. What you want to know is 'How do I make players level up quicker?' which is simple - decrease the amount of exp necessary to level up. It has the same effect as a blanket exp increase, but is much easier and needs less conversion. |

How can I stop a large level disparity from being a problem? I can't really avoid the issue by letting characters at home level up slowly, because new characters will still be very low-leveled. However, the inter-character roleplaying is a good idea. |

Would flying monsters ever land during combat? @Mikalichov Or the crater of a dormant (or even, for red dragons, live!) volcano. There are a lot of possibilities, but in many cases, Dragons simply have an association with large caves full of treasure. Also, it helps hide the treasure from potential threats, like other dragons, and things such as weather. Overall, it depends on the DM and situation. |

Would flying monsters ever land during combat? @KRyan The temporary disadvantages are outweighed by the overall advantages of protecting treasure or young - it depends on the DM's background for the creature. How many dragons, for example, would want to store their treasure in a non-enclosed space? Would they pile up coins on a hillside? amidst some trees? |

Is there a list of optimised characters for D&D 3e? Either would be good, I guess. |

In AD&D 2e, is there a system that roughly equates to spot checks in 3.x? I'm not talking about seeing hidden foes, I mean things like a hidden key in a room. |
