I'm mostly on RPG.stackexchange.com, but also check Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Stackoverflow. I'm currently GMing and/or playing OD&D, AD&D 2e and Stars Without Number campaigns. I use C# (in Unity3d) and Python when writing code.

How can I tailor an encounter so that a low level, mostly mundane party can defeat a wasp swarm? Just in case, have a pool or river nearby they can flee into if things turn sour. This way, if they get unlucky or you make the encounter too hard, they can escape. |

Is there an RPG or RPG setting for Un Lun Dun, and if not, how and how easily would one go about making one? Hello, and welcome to rpg.stackexchange.com! This is a good first question, so here's a +1 to get you started. Please read the faq at some point. |

How to handle wealthy player characters as a GM? +1 for 'Peasants may have little to offer in reward (perhaps fealty?)'. I find that getting followers can be a very good reward for some players, especially if they can be useful in more ways than 'I get them to attack the orcs!' |

How to Manage Player Frustration and Disengagement In DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online) two-handed weapons have 'Glancing Blows' that do a small amount of damage (around 20-30%) on near misses, with various feats to improve it. You could try something like that. |

How to Manage Player Frustration and Disengagement +1, but just to add for the last point - take care that this doesn't devolve to the point that the unlucky player effectively takes control of someone else's character. It's not good, believe me, especially for the guy who's now bored instead. |

How to help players who roll really badly? If your problem is with Goblin Dice, maybe modify the system you are playing. Most games will have (at least) a very small chance of failure in combat for the players, so that it's more exciting. Unhappily, this means that occasionally this small probability will come up. |

How do I avoid clichés while improvising? I'd say you've already taken the first step - You've noticed it and are trying to change it. |
