I've just spend 3 years studying cognitive neuroscience, whilst being inwardly jealous of the CS students. Now I'm doing a PhD and programming is becoming a huge part of my day-to-day life.
My research interests lie in sensory substitution, so I need to do a lot of image analysis and signal generation. Most of the time I use C# (for prototyping), though I'll be porting to embedded devices later.
I started hacking in VBA in Excel, so blame Joel for me being here. For a while I was the geeky half of an awesome web design duo, so I'm quite at home with PHP (esp. cakePHP and Wordpress), jQuery and other web related things. I've also a special place in my heart for prolog - possibly the most fun I've had with a language.
