comment Fantasy games opposite to 5e's Bounded Accuracy
How is it possible that you have years of experience with D&D5e to be dissatisfied with? Since the bounded accuracy you dislike is a response to problems of scaling in older editions of D&D, have you looked at those? And Pathfinder, which was a response to the changes in D&D 4e? I'm not sure this is a good question yet.

Is the system tag necessary or useful here? Does its presence inform the answers? Would its absence?

comment How can I learn how to lay out an “evidence scene”?
This is not an answer, but I recommend the excellent GURPS Mysteries for some solid advice on the challenges RPG mysteries present and ways to mitigate and / or overcome them.

Reading up on GUMSHOE would be useful for point of view. The crucial idea is finding the clue is boring, what's exciting is what they do with it.

comment Is there a fantasy system that has a similar mechanical complexity to Ars Magica, but with a more robust melee system?
The system I remembered is in the Thaumatology book under "semantic magic"

Exactly! If it doesn't make sense in the fiction, it never gets rolled!

Heh. Yeah, I understand that! You think you've created an opportunity for awesome and it backfires. No, nothing like that has ever happened to me, why do you ask? :)

@BESW - Yes, exactly! It's not even the answer that you are happy with yet! I liked it, though, already. +1d.

While we're talking about the narrative bent of Fate - If I were your GM, I probably wouldn't have had your ninja roll to kick down that door. Was it meant to be an obstacle to the ninja? Was there an interesting consequence to his failure? What was the purpose of rolling and why would a badass ninja have a chance of failing to kick down a stationary, defenseless door?

Just a quick reminder - it is usually better to wait at least a couple of days before accepting an answer. It tends to garner more (and better!) answers. You've accepted an answer that was written less than 20 minutes ago.

Removed Timeglider from list, noted why.
