comment What should I consider when creating a time travel adventure?
The new TimeWatch game from Pelgrane is a GUMSHOE system time travel game, but is full of advice for any time travel GM. Don't know if you can still get the kickstarter rules or will have to wait for release.

comment Balancing Weapon/Armor in a varied group
Re: 6) Except that having a haunted katana can be invoked in many more combat situations than a space parrot. The combat focus of the item narrows it's field of applicability, but it's a pretty important field in some games and the hobby as a whole. A player who convincingly and entertainingly explains how his space parrot gives him +2 to his fight roll should be just as rewarded as a player who says, "I hit him with my haunted katana again."

I have used GURPS to run low-level, survival-oriented games. Now, mine wasn't a wildlife simulation. It was a horror game. But the fact remains that I used the game for a non-heroic campaign. I might add that when I said, "wildlife simulation", I wondered if the bunnies and burrows supplement might have any applicable advice.

comment Tree based tool to create dialog
@HeavyAl - Scrivener is beyond awesome. I don't see how it particularly fits this question (yes, you could crowbar the organization tools into a dialog tree, but that's not really what it's for), but many writers of any stripe (academic, legal, fiction, screen, game) could probably benefit from it.

comment As a newbie DM, is it OK to borrow plots from MMOs for my game?
Welcome to RPG.SE! I would like to mention that while accepting an answer is good, accepting it after waiting at least a couple of days is better. If you don't really users a chance to answer your question, how can you know which one is the right one to accept? Also, it tends to encourage more and better answers when you wait some. Not a big deal, just a thing I notice (and mention) with some new members. As a guy who mostly runs games, I appreciate your efforts and hope your game goes great!

comment Looking for game with a specific initiative system
"Indefensible" meshes nicely with my memory of Rifts, a game that ended up being as awful in practice as it sounded awesome in principle.

comment How can I let the players be what they want in AD&D 1e?
Welcome to the site! I just wanted to note that in the future, you might want to wait a couple of days before accepting an answer. It's considered to be effective in generating more and possibly better answers.
