comment Maximum bookkeeping fantasy game with magic
@Aaron - My experience is withe editions 2-5 and it holds true for all of them. It's not a fault or a problem or a slur; it's the nature of the game.

comment Random weather in flight-centric campaigns
Actually, I think picking a year and using weather data for analogous locations is a really good idea. You don't have to simulate weather at all, and get the level of detail you were after. Time in-game doesn't have to proceed in lockstep with reality, either.

comment How do GM Moves in Dungeon World work in practice?
I think this demonstrates a common problem - an assumption that the GM moves in DW are just advice like they are in so many games.

A lot of the complexity of GURPS and the difficulty of balancing can be addressed by using the Dungeon Fantasy lens supplements. These still give you the flexibility and power of GURPS.

Also, asking questions like, "You enter the city due to the mayor's summons, who's going to her office?" gives them the opportunity to say, "Fran and Bill. While they go, we're setting up our meet with the fence." Or even, "Nobody, we need to go shopping first!" If that's what they really want to do.
