Hi, I'm Dr Rotwang! You might remember me from such industrial education films as They Call Him Dr Rotwang!, Dr Rotwang! Is His Name and Stay Out Of the Carboard Smasher. I dig RPGs.

DUDE. You NAILED it. It makes sense now! The player can do a Maneuver to apply a temporary aspect on HIM- OR HERSELF. So obvious and simple! Thanks very much, Aramis!

comment How to model an absolute condition in Fate?
If I have one problem with FATE, it's the issue of GM Fiat; specifically, that it's easy to fool yourself into forgetting that GM Fiat applies in FATE as well as in any other game.

comment Making fantasy city [non-tactical] maps with GIMP
Seconded. I am a big fan of GIMP -- big enough of one to know that this sounds like a job for Inkscape.

She put the same aspect on two guys, and got a free tag on each of 'em? DUDE! That's a clever trick. I like it.

Did Bonnie just tag "In Each Other's Way" twice?

comment How do you adjudicate a chase?
I did something like this for a swoop race in Star Wars a long time ago. I laid out the course as a series of obstacles, each with a Difficulty Number. The swoop pilots had to beat each one in turn, and margin of success or failure determined not only if the obstacle was passed, but also how well -- with modifications to the swoop's current speed. Worked a charm.
