I started playing D&D with the second edition back in the mid-90's. I love the limitless adventures and the endless possibilities of pen-and-paper role-playing games.

revised What is the total net bonus when attacking an unconscious creature?
The correct expression is "coup de grace", "coup de gras" meaning litterally "hit with fat" ;)

comment As a DM, how can I integrate a commerce aspect to D&D?
I don't know yet how it will cost, but Wikipedia tells me that Mount Rushmore cost around 1 billion $ in current dollars. I'll make some kind of gold piece equivalent :)

I just bought Silk Road and it's even better than I expected. Thank you!

@okeefe: They want the money to build a temple dedicated to their gods in their home village and .... carve their face on a moutainside visible from a major city they were banned from, mount Rushmore-style.

@Jeremiah: It's essentially a system tool question. The roleplay/story side is handled (I'm open to roleplay suggestions too by the way) and I'm looking for plausible mechanics for it.

comment What is the optimal way to design a well balanced party
I agree that the party's characters should be in a similar power range. However, I still think that the question is basically "How the players can make a party that overcomes the DM's challenges" and it's not my take on doing DMing and D&D games in general. I'm more of a "How can the DM make interesting challenges for the party the players made".
