Currently DMing the War of the Burning Sky for D&D 3.5, as well as playing a bard in 4th edition.
I started out with the Jedko Games printing of Frank Mentzer's red box (the 'B' in BECMI), which was quickly followed by the 2nd edition AD&D Player's Handbook. After a long hiatus, I started playing D&D again after the release of the Baldur's Gate PC game renewed my interest in the pen and paper version. Likewise, I only started playing 3rd edition after I was solidly addicted to Neverwinter Nights.
I've played (and GMed) a lot of Palladium games, particularly Robotech and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. My roleplaying group were also fans of R. Talsorian Games' Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk 2020. I've also played Rolemaster and HARP, as well as Earthdawn.

Looking for local colour for a Cyberpunk set in Brazil Regional accents and slang are an important aspect of Brazilian Portuguese: although it is my second language, I can recognize a Carioca accent as soon as I hear it. Baianos also have a distinctive style of speaking, or so I'm told - I'm not able to pick up on it, but native speakers can. |

Looking for local colour for a Cyberpunk set in Brazil Here is one source (in Portuguese) and some related commentary. The UN figures cite the Minister of Justice, National Secretary of Public Security as the source, but I'm not sure if the data by city is publicly available on the web. |

Looking for local colour for a Cyberpunk set in Brazil Paulistas and Cariocas are famously adamant that their own city is the best (perhaps like the rivalry between NY and LA?). The soccer example is also a major one - Brazilians are very proud of their regional soccer team, eg. Mestre Pastinha using the Ypiranga team colors as the uniform for his Capoeira school. |
