Any advice on how to politely approach a friend on problems with her character(s)? @TimothyAWiseman, I used to agree. My problem with multitasking is that it's never just one person. As soon as one player whips out homework or Angry Birds, the rest are more likely to give into the temptation. |

Adding comic relief To clarify, I said a character whose very existence is comic relief would be impossible to take seriously. A character can have his entire role in this story be comic relief and still be a legit character. |

Adding comic relief @psr, agreed, but Jar Jar was what the GM thought would be funny. Instead you have a pathetic joke of a character who everyone would rather just forget. |

How do you make 4th Edition Rituals more accessible? @SevenSidedDie, I was going for the game term residuum, not the english word residuum. I guess that's my bad for not using code tags. meta.rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/1483/… |

How do I transition my players from roll-playing to role-playing? @TimothyAWiseman, I can see that but I think the context is a little different. When you travel for business, you're doing so with people you see frequently, but not all the time. Returning home from an adventure is more like coming back at the end of a camping trip that was several months long and at the bottom of a hole. It definitely depends on the kind of adventure you're going on though. |

Free action/no action encounter power available to all players? Those sound similar to the cards you use in Living Forgotten Realms. If you list some card names and text I could tell you for sure. |

How much plot guidance is too much? Bacon, I agree completely. Those games sound like a case of too little plot guidance. My post suggests using more than that. |
