"Truly! Twas Gimoneus the wise, grand sorcerer of Elantorfan, keeper of the ancient rune of Turgochit, came nearest to slaying the mighty dragon of Ralmorgantorg; for he was old and sinewy, and the wretched beast near choked to death on his femur." Bulwer-Lytton Fantasy runner-up

I'm not completely sure that negative reinforcement is the best approach in this case. It has the alternate side effect of creating a GM vs. Players mentality, as well as establishes me as a stricter/harsher GM; in essence, the table becomes less open. Additionally, as with the other answer, plot-based rewards may break the system of Fate points as expressed in Fate Accelerated. Thank you for the advice, though!

While I do, in principle, agree with your answer, my question is specifically about how to apply a reward in-game for Fate Accelerated, which does not have an experience system. As a result, I am fairly certain the idea of actual rewards for descriptiveness breaks the Fate point aspect of the game. I appreciate the answer, but I'm skeptical this advice applies.

@MC_Hambone Thanks for the update! Unfortunately, without an actual experience to reference in play, it's hard to support your argument. I think that, at least mechanically, bypassing the rules to the extent your answer suggests may not be the best approach. While it is a valid answer, and it is well thought-out, I don't think I'm going to implement it, and don't feel right accepting it. Thank you for the answer, though!

Thank you for the helpful answer! I hope you understand - I'm going to refrain from accepting this answer to see if someone has a more FAE-specific one, but nevertheless, thank you!

comment How would I simulate the multi stage fitness test?
This depends a lot on the accuracy you need. Do you need an actual hard number, or is it something you would want to compare? The reason I ask is that it is much more reasonable to create a comparison test as opposed to a hard number (which would have to be tuned, &c.) The rest can be roleplayed. So, I suppose my question is: what do you need the results for?
