comment Ranger Whirlwind Attack vs Extra Attack and Horde Breaker
@DerekStucki Horde Breaker only works against 1 enemy. Duelist does better damage after level 5, and if you have 3 enemies in reach, Duelist+Whirlwid is better than TWF+Extra Attack.

comment Do PCs facing a group of harpies have to make multiple saving throws against their song?
@Miniman on 8th level a deadly encounter contains 14 skeletons, 14th level means 28.5. It does not sound paricularly dangerous.

@Miniman, I think this is the definition of overpowered. The DM could use it to kill us all, they just decide not to :)

I agree how it works, but I think it is really overpowered, borderline broken. Incapacitated is a very serious condition, and in low levels DC11 is far from trivial. At fourth level even Clerics (Wis +6) have only 41% chance of succeeding on 4 of them on the first try. The "ignores the songs of other harpies" part ensures that when the Sorcerer finally manages to save agains the first one, all the others can still affect him. This has TPK written all over it.

comment Does Calm Emotions still allow a saving throw?
How cold you suppress something that is not affecting you? "Suppress" sounds like treating the symptoms, not the underlying condition.

comment The Warcaster Feat and Arcane Focus
I would allow it as a DM. If you burned a feat on not having to drop your weapon for somatic components, it is really unfair to force you to drop it anyway for material components.
