@Adam: He's easy enough to contact, he's active on the internet, e.g., on the Glorantha Yahoo group, but he might or might not respond, and if he does respond, his answer might or might not contain an answer. This interview is unusual for its high density of straight answers. @Brian: He does say that this version of D&D had a dramatic impact on Chaosium's game development efforts. The implication I pick up is that this fiend's copy was the impactful one.

@Brian: Do you not understand from the quote that (i) Greg Stafford's friend bought that first copy and (ii) gave it to Greg? It is Greg talking about what he remembers. Additionally, many people comment on the poor production values of the original, but this is the sharpest quote I know of.

What is unsubstantiated? That Greg Stafford said that? Alex Dotor should be view as a reliable interviewer: certainly he has interviewed many important figures in independent role-playing.
