Jul 13, 2018 at 15:10 comment added user37158 I see this as a "Good subjective" question, presenting the challenge OP is facing closely tracking the time durations and asking about other DMs experience on ways to handle it better. I think it can be answered with "facts, references, and specific expertise". I've voted to reopen.

Jul 12, 2018 at 20:07 comment added NotArch Given that the spells all do have actual time limits and that everyone's encounters and parties will be different, I'm not sure that this is answerable without being opinion. It's a very interesting question and concern, but this seems more like a call for ideas than a specific question that can be answered here on the Stack and may be better suited for a forum.
Jul 12, 2018 at 20:02 comment added awenonian Sorry, I excluded 1 minute since I was talking about "other durations". 100 rounds is a 10 minute spell.
Jul 12, 2018 at 19:58 comment added Premier Bromanov "Even the shortest of these lasts an extraordinarily long number of rounds (100!)" Whats your math on this? rounds are described as lasting 6 seconds. 1 minute is therefore 10 rounds (60 seconds)
