Nov 13, 2023 at 17:48 | comment | added | Nobody the Hobgoblin | I took off my close vote. I think there is an argument to be made for closing or and one for answering, and there has not been a majority consensus either way, plus we have one answer already that does a credible effort at providing an answer.

Nov 11, 2023 at 22:44 | comment | added | Kryomaani | Have you read Player's Handbook's chapter on spellcasting and Xanathar's chapter of the same name? Everything you've asked is very explicitly spelled out in those and they leave very little room for interpretation.
Nov 11, 2023 at 20:15 | comment | added | NotArch | As Nobody linnked, we've got some duplicates in there. I think it would be better to trim down the question with what's not answered and also make sure we really understand what the source of the question is about. Have they read the rules on templates? Do they have questions about the rules or about how he's seen the rules applied?
Nov 11, 2023 at 14:00 | comment | added | SeriousBri | I think a general how do templates work with a grid is a reasonable question. Is there something specific people have issue with? Are we wanting separate questions for me ach type of template?
Nov 11, 2023 at 9:48 | comment | added | Senmurv | Which bit should be more focused? Maybe a detailed answer about AoE would be helpful in the stack. I mean there is info in the DMG and PHB about this and we have related questions, too.

Nov 11, 2023 at 6:07 | comment | added | Nobody the Hobgoblin | I added a few related answers for you -- this is another issue with multi-question questions: they may have good answers for a single specific question, but not another. I'd recommend you edit your question to focus on something that is not covered by these exisiting answers. Otherwise, it is probably going to be closed for clarification, focus, or because it is asking duplicate questions.(Which is not neccesarily a bad thing).

Nov 11, 2023 at 5:51 | comment | added | Nobody the Hobgoblin | Hi, and welcome to stack exchange. I caused the community bot feedback above, because you ask a lot of different questions in one question, and typically it is best to focus on one specific question (although here, they are all related to templates). That is so that an answer can more easily be right or wrong about that question, and be upvoted or downvoted on that. Otherwise, how to vote on an answer that is great on one question, but bad on the other. You can take the tour if you have not already, or check out the help center center.
