Aug 9 at 12:01 comment added SeriousBri Sword bard defensive flourish is good for AC, especially with more investment into bard at higher levels. I have had an ac over 30 in light armour.

Aug 9 at 0:35 comment added justhalf @NathanS definitely not homebrew, although as Darth said, it's partnered content, so ask your DM if they use that book. Note that Staff of Defense requires attunement by Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard.
Aug 8 at 15:59 comment added Darth Pseudonym Humblewood is 3rd party, but it's on D&D Beyond so it's kinda quasi-official.
Aug 8 at 15:09 comment added NathanS @justhalf This new Hedge race you mentioned, that's from the Humblewood book, right? Is that an official source book or is it homebrew or 3rd party? Good catch on the Staff if Defense, though
Aug 8 at 0:31 comment added justhalf On items, there are also Staff of Defense, etc.
Aug 8 at 0:26 comment added justhalf There's also the new Hedge race, with 14 + Dex AC and a cool defensive ability
Aug 7 at 20:33 comment added Danger Lake Just adding to the list, reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/kmre2e/… Not everything is going to apply, but there's plenty of buffs others can cast on you, like warding bond or even ceremony etc. Not my list, but should help remind of some other options.
Aug 7 at 17:27 comment added Senmurv Great answer! :) I had wondered why players weren't using Barkskin and they told me about the concentration requirement, which to me did not make much sense. We agreed a houserule to remove concentration and it worked well. The condition being that it could only cast it on themselves or one PC.
Aug 7 at 17:21 comment added Someone_Evil @NathanS You're right they get something, though it's the far more unique 12 + Con

Aug 7 at 17:17 comment added NathanS Thanks for your answer. I'd forgotten about Draconic Sorcerers. However, if memory serves, did the Loxodon race from GGtR have some kind of natural armor, similar to Lizardfolk?
