Does Do proficiency bonus also increase at 5th level forincreases due to levelling apply to skills gained from character background?

I have createdI'm playing my first D&D5eD&D 5e character and have just achieved level 5, a Wood Elf Fighter with the Soldier background. I have proficiency in the skills Acrobatics and Survival from the Fighter class, and Athletics and Intimidation from the Soldier background

Race:     Wood Elf

Class:    Fighter

Background:    Soldier

Skills:    Acrobatics and Survival from the fighter class, and Athletics and Intimidation from my background.

When my character reaches 5thI've just reached level 5, so my proficiency bonus increases from +2 to +3.

DoIt makes sense that this bonus increase applies to my Fighter skills, since my level as a Fighter has increased, but do I also increase the proficiency in the two skills gained from my background skills?
