Unless you have War Caster, high CON and proficiency in CON saves, you're likely going to lose concentration after getting hit 2-3 times - and you're likely going to get hit if you're using Flame Blade, which is a melee spell. At higher levels, it's not too unusual to take 40+ damage in a round (such as from a dragon's breath weapon), which requires a DC20+ CON save. Therefore, I don't think your argument about the spell duration is particularly relevant. | |
