There are technically answers to this question both here, Sage Advice, a tweet by Jeremy Crawford, and this question here. As I said, they are "technically" answers, but I can answer the question 1+1 with the answer 4, that doesn't mean that it's right or that it helps me solve the answer. These answers have left me even more confused to how the Devil's Sight invocation works.
Devil's Sight (PHB Pg. 110)
You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet.
So, can I get a definitive answer on what exactly this invocation does? Saying it is meant to be an eerie ability does not help clarify. I, as well as the rest of our table, took this vague description to mean that "seeing normally in darkness" meant that you can see as though it was normal lighting, basically as though it was day time, or torches were out, or whatever would cause the area to appear as though there is no darkness. Is that NOT how this works? Or is there some other meaning?
You may see my confusion, here. So, basically, can someone give me a definite, straightforward "this-is-how-it-works" answer?
