The Spell [Vampiric Touch][1] states:

> Your touch deals 1d6 points of damage per two caster levels (maximum
> 10d6). You gain temporary hit points equal to the damage you deal. You
> can't gain more than the subject's current hit points + the subject's
> Constitution score

So could you cast the spell on yourself, gain up to your own Hits+Constitution in [temporary hit points][2] and then subsequently get a cure to get yourself extra hit points?

Note: For interests sake (and so the caster doesn't potentially kill themselves) you can [cast spells at a lower level than normal][3] as long as it's high enough to cast said spell.
