Adventurers League generally restricts the frequency and commonality of the magic items that are distributed in adventures. But what if an AL GM wanted to award players with trained mounts like warhorses, uncommon beasts like rhinoceri, more exotic beasts like dinosaurs (which have become prevalent with Tomb of Annihilation), or even creatures like hippogriffs, pegasi or unicorns. This question could also extend to DMs gifting exotic, pet-like creatures as well such as Al’miraj (also found in Chult) or pseudodragons. Though these creatures don’t appear to count as permanent magical items - certainly some creature allies could be just as powerful as one. What are the AL Tier guidelines around awarding treasure of a “creature” nature?
