I've played roleplaying/fantasy games since 1976.Starting with solo adventures, and playing thru the original DND boxed sets with friends. Even now I still play 2nd edition and 3.x edition of DND, nearly 40 years later.
I have DM'd games in my own world's built from scratch, to boxed worlds such as Draginlance and Darksun. Paladium games, gurps, In Nomine... the list is long. I work at conventions as a Judge in the gamer rooms, and try to be as fair and fun as I can be. Too many rules makes for an annoying game, and not enough rules calls for some really stupid players doing unimaginably stupid things.
As a Player, I've found that I've never been one to build an OP player... my gear and choices are usually built around roleplaying and gimmicks which make my pc weird and stylish. Like the Gnome who actually tinkers... "Whats this button do?.. uhm..." scratches head, "I...dont know. I dont remember building THAT button." ... "Try it...? Are you MAD? It must be Studied! I believe the machine built it's own button..." LOL
