I am a casual table-top gamer who loves role-playing games and board games. My roleplaying experience started with D&D 3.0 when my friends in high school picked up the books and decided to give it a try. I was instantly in love with it. That first game was a learning experience for all of us. We took turns being the DM, and that really helped my understanding of what it was like on both ends of the table.
Since then I've played D&D 3.5e, 4e, and 5e, as well as pathfinder 1e and a one-shot module of pathfinder 2e. I've also played a bunch of non-D&D TTRPGs such as D20 Modern, Star Wars Saga Edition, Shadow Run 5th edition, old World of Darkness (Vampire the masquerade specifically), new World of Darkness (Mage the Awakening specifically), Dungeon World, Scum and Villainy, and Cyber Punk Red (pre-release one-shot).
I have GMing experience with D&D 3rd/3.5, D&D 5e (running an Acquisitions Incorporated game that I have continued far beyond the published adventure), new WoD (Mage the Awakening), and MechWarrior 3rd edition (which was a ton of fun to GM).
My day job is in IT and my other hobbies include PC gaming, reading fantasy, watching TV and movies (especially sci-fi, fantasy, and action, but also comedy and the occasional historical movie like The King's Speech), and board gaming. In normal (non-covid) times I go volunteer for CGE for conventions like GenCon, demoing their board games. I love to learn new games and also to teach new people and get them into tabletop gaming, and the travel is a nice bonus.
