That's what I was looking for-a formula to apply. I had checked Unearthed Arcana along with the other core books but didn't think it'd be hiding in a single weapon description (especially a duplicated weapon [OA includes the whip too], ugh), though the OA book silently references UA elsewhere (Barbarians' harpoon comes to mind).
