Mar 13, 2012 at 18:25 comment added C. Ross What I'm using for the moment is "a number of spell levels equal to the level of the spell". For example a 5th level spell could be paid in one second level, and three first level spells from the party (usually split among the party).
Mar 13, 2012 at 17:28 comment added dlras2 @C.Ross—Your edit makes your question clearer, but even more subjective. Spells have their assigned costs for a reason. If you want to lower that cost for your party - then do so. I'm not really sure how such a model could possibly exist..
