When you don't mount/unmount the defender shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. | |

This seems different from the way controlled mounts work...I think your actions can intermingle with the mount but not the defender. It makes a big difference if you are charging in with a Lance, striking and running away. | |
